EU to establish unified patent and patent court

The European Commission has adopted a plan to strengthen the EU’s patent regime through the establishment of a EU-wide patent and patent court, it announced on December 4, 2009. The plan aims to reduce costs for companies and improve the level of court decisions. The European Commission also announced it had reached agreement on EU patent regulations.
