"International Classification of Goods and Services (Version 12-2025)" and "Examination Guidelines for Similar Goods and Services (Compatible with International Classification (Version 12-2025))" have been published

The Nice Classification has been revised and is now version 12-2025, which came into effect on January 1, 2025.

In response to this, the Japan Patent Office has published the "International Classification of Goods and Services (12th edition) - Alphabetical List with Japanese Translation and Similar Group Codes," which corresponds to the revised international classification.

The application period of the "International Classification of Goods and Services [12th edition - 2025]" will be from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.

In addition, the "Examination Guidelines for Similar Goods and Services" have also been revised in line with the revision of the International Classification Table.

The "Similar Goods and Services Examination Guidelines (International Classification No. 12 - 2025 Edition)" will go into effect on January 1, 2025.
