■ Topic: Precautions regarding the use of copyrighted material within a company
We will look at the Intellectual Property High Court's ruling of June 8, 2023, which ruled that sharing a newspaper article on a company's intranet constitutes copyright infringement, and discuss two points: how the nature of a work is determined, and how the burden of proof is considered when claiming copyright infringement.
