The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) announced on October 8, 2025, that it will launch the Artificial Intelligence Search Automated Pilot (ASAP!) program.
As an initial communication, ASAP! provides a "Top 10 List" of potential prior art documents that require the applicant's attention, providing an early opportunity for applicants to evaluate their claims against the prior art before proceeding to substantive examination.
To participate in ASAP!, applicants must submit the required petition form and pay the petition fee.
