The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will introduce DesignVision, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered image search tool, for design patent examiners.
DesignVision is an AI-driven tool that allows users to search U.S. and international industrial design collections using an image as an input query. Search results are sortable based on image similarity.
"DesignVision" is not intended to replace other search tools used by design examiners, and other search tools and non-patent literature will continue to be used by design examiners in their research.
