The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has announced changes to its fee schedule for 2025. Major changes include a new fee structure for filing applications and increased fees for certain services. Most of the changes take effect on January 18, 2025.
Important changes include:
1. For goods or services that are not selected from the ID Manual (similar to the Japanese Product and Service Examination Standards Table), but are freely specified, an additional fee of $XNUMX per class will be charged.
2. If the application contains incomplete information (applicant's name, address, legal entity, etc.), an additional fee of $XNUMX will be charged per category.
