미국 특허 취득 랭킹

미국 지적재산소유자협회(IPO)가 2024년 기업별 특허 취득 랭킹을 발표했습니다.

IPO에 따르면 2024년에는 324,042건(전년 대비 4% 증가)의 특허가 발행되고 있습니다.

랭킹에서는 삼성전자가 9,304건으로 작년에 이어 선두가 되었습니다. 2위는 5,156건의 LG, 3위는 4,010건의 TSMC가 되어, 상위 3사가 아시아를 본거지로 하는 기업이 되었습니다.

미국 기업에서는 4위 Qualcomm사, 6위 Apple사, 7위 IBM, 8위 Alphabet사(Google의 모회사)가 TOP10에 랭킹되고 있습니다.

일본계 기업에서는, Canon(9위), Toyota(10위), Sony(11위) 외에, Panasonic(19위), Hitachi(23위), NTT(24위), Fujifilm(25위) 등이 상위에 랭킹되고 있다.

2025년 1월 30일, JPO는 도쿄 과학대학과의 공동 개최로, 「삼극 특허청 장관・유저 회합 국제 심포지엄 ～지적 재산과 기술 이전︓ 성장하는 혁신 에코시스템의 구축～」를 도쿄에서 개최했습니다.

본 심포지엄의 개최에 있어서는, 유럽 특허청(EPO), 미국 특허 상표청(USPTO), 세계 지적 소유권 기관(WIPO) 및 일미유럽의 유저 단체인 일본 지적 재산 협회(JIPA), 미국 지적 재산권법 협회(AIPLA) 및 유럽 협회(E)와 유럽 국지적재산

WIPO 요겐센 사무국 차장(WIPO를 대표), EPO 캄피노스 장관(유럽, 지재청을 대표), JIPA 청소년 부이사장(일본 민간을 대표), AIPLA 아나스타시씨(미국, 변리사를 대표) 등 오노 장관(일본, 지재청을 대표).

WIPO 사무국장과의 회담

2월 13일 세계지적소유권기관(WIPO)의 다렌탄(Daren Tang) 사무국장이 경제산업성을 방문하여 무토 대신과 회담했습니다.

회담에서는, 무토 대신은, 올해 개최되는 오사카·간사이 만박에의 탄 사무국장의 참가를 환영하는 것과 동시에, 사회 과제 해결을 위한 지재 활용의 촉진에 관한 국제 포럼의 개최를 향해서, WIPO와 일본이, 서로 한층 제휴하는 것으로 일치했습니다.

또 이날 탄 사무국장은 특허청 오노장관과 특허청에서 회담했습니다. 회담에서는, 박람회에서 국제 포럼의 개최를 통해 WIPO GREN의 활용 촉진에 공헌하는 것나, 지재 활용 기업에의 표창을 실시하는 것에 대해, 인식을 공유했습니다. 또, 재팬 펀드를 통한 WIPO GREENE의 대처를 향후 한층 확충해 나가는 일이나, WIPO GREEEN 앰배서더 프로그램에의 협력 등에 대해서 의견 교환을 실시했습니다. UPC Long-arm jurisdiction

2025년 1월 28일에 나온 통일 특허 법원(UPC)의 판결 UPC_CFI_355/2023(후지필름 주식회사 대 코닥 홀딩사, 코닥사, 코닥 그래픽 커뮤니케이션즈사)가 화제를 불러오고 있습니다.

이 판결에 의하면 피고가 체약국(여기에서는 독일)에 거주하는 경우 통일특허법원은 계쟁특허의 영국부분에 관한 침해소송을 심리할 관할권을 가집니다. 이는 피고가 계쟁특허의 독일 부분에 대해 취소를 요구하는 반소를 제기하는 경우에도 적용됩니다. 그 경우에도 영국에 관한 침해소송에 관해서는 통일특허재판소가 사건을 심리할 관할권을 가진다고 합니다. 영국은 EPC의 회원국이지만 Brexit에 의해 EU를 이탈하고 있으며, 당연히 UPC 협정의 회원국도 아닙니다.

US Patent Acquisition Ranking

The US Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) has released its 2024 ranking of companies by number of patents acquired.

According to the IPO, 324,042 patents were issued in 2024 (a 4% increase over the previous year).

The top three companies in the ranking are based in Asia, with Samsung Electronics taking the top spot with 9,304 patents, followed by LG with 5,156 and TSMC with 4,010.

Results of the Trilateral Patent Office Director and Users Meeting International Symposium

Meeting with WIPO Director General

On February 13, Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), visited the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and met with Minister Muto.
